THB AI Health Assistant – Terms of Use, Legal Privacy & Consent Notice
Effective Date: November 11, 2025
Applies to: All users interacting with Maya – THB’s AI Health Assistant via THB’s digital platforms or any integrated Patient Health Record (PHR) system.
1. Nature of the Service
Maya is an artificial-intelligence–driven digital health assistant created by The Health Bank (THB) to enhance patient engagement, education, and care coordination.
Maya may access or interpret information from your Patient Health Record (PHR) to help you navigate your care and better understand your health data.
Maya’s guidance is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and does not establish a patient–physician relationship.
Clinical decisions must always be made by a qualified healthcare professional.
2. Acceptance of Terms and Informed Consent
By initiating or continuing a conversation with Maya, you acknowledge and agree that:
You understand Maya is an AI-powered system, not a licensed medical professional.
You provide informed consent for THB to use AI algorithms to process your inputs and generate responses.
You recognize that Maya’s responses may contain errors or omissions and you will not rely solely on them for medical decisions.
You agree to hold THB, its affiliates, and technology partners harmless from liability for any harm or loss arising from your use of this service.
If you do not agree, please discontinue the session immediately.
3. Data Processing and Protection
All information exchanged through Maya is processed and stored under THB’s HIPAA-aligned and GDPR-compliant data-protection policies.
Data may be securely shared within your Patient Health Record (PHR) environment for the sole purpose of care coordination and system improvement.
THB does not sell, rent, or share your personal health data with unauthorized third parties.
Data may be anonymized for analytics or AI training to ensure no personally identifiable information (PII) is exposed.

4. Limitations of Liability
You expressly acknowledge that:
THB makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content.
THB is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from reliance on Maya’s responses.
This includes, without limitation, harm arising from misinterpretation, delay, or technical error in AI processing.
For urgent or emergency concerns, contact your physician or local emergency services immediately.
5. Retention and Review
Conversation logs may be stored for quality assurance, auditing, and AI training in accordance with THB’s Data Retention Policy and applicable laws.
6. Governing Law
This consent is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

Dr. Noaman Sanni
Ophthalmologist (USA)
Dr. Noaman Sanni is a board-certified ophthalmologist and completed his Ophthalmology residency at the prestigious University of Chicago Hospitals where he had the honor of being selected as Chief Resident. Dr. Sanni went on to do fellowship training in internal diseases, plus cornea and refractive surgery. Dr. Sanni completed three years of training in internal medicine and was recognized as a top Ophthalmologist for the past 7 years in a row by Castle Connolly Top Doctors. His latest recognition is from 2021 as one of America’s Most Honored Doctors.
Dr. Donatella Casiglia
Specialist, Endocrinology and Diabetology (UAE)
Dr. Donatella is an Italian board- certified specialist, endocrinology, and diabetology, with over 26 years of experience in treating patients with complex type 1 and type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodule, hypothyroidism, parathyroid disease, obesity, pituitary, and adrenal disease. She is currently working at Clemenceau Medical Center, in Dubai, UAE.
Dr. Junaid Bajwa
Chief Medical Scientist, Microsoft (UK)
Junaid is the Chief Medical Scientist at Microsoft Research and a practicing physician in the NHS (United Kingdom National Health Service). He was previously the Global Lead for Strategic Alliances and Solutions for the Global Digital Centre of Excellence at Merck Sharp & Dohme, where he led a range of strategic initiatives to improve patient care. He co-founded “VelocityHealth” as Europe’s first prevention-focused digital-health accelerator, in partnership with Telefonica. Previously, Junaid has worked across primary care, secondary care, and public health settings, in addition to acting as a player, and policymaker within the UK, where he specialized in informatics, digital transformation, and leadership. Junaid hopes to unlock the power of technology to help solve the healthcare challenges of today, whilst reimagining a better future for tomorrow.
Dr. Suhail Chughtai
Orthopedic Surgeon and Telehealth Innovator (UK)
Dr. Suhail Chughtai , a fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, UK, has various professional roles such as o rthopaedic surgeon based in London, medico- legal examiner, tele- health speaker and expert alongside being a creative medical software designer. He has over 20 years of experience in orthopaedics and trauma in the capacity of a consultant and his work in the field of telemedicine has been awarded by several notable organizations such as Commonwealth Digital Healthcare Awards among many others. He is Chief Technology Offer at THB.
Dr. Jared D. Ament
Neurosurgeon (USA)
Dr. Jared D. Ament is a fellowship-trained American board-certified neurosurgeon.
He specializes in complex and minimally invasive brain and spine surgery, using the latest technologies, including neuronavigation and robotics. His practice focuses heavily on motion preservation, expanding the frontier in both cervical and lumbar artificial disc replacement surgeries.
Dr. Ament has operated on many celebrities and professional athletes and is currently the Principal Investigator on several FDA clinical trials, researching to next generation of artificial disc and motion preservation technologies. Dr. Ament received his Hon. BSc. from the University of Toronto and his MD from the Medical School for International Health, a collaborative initiative between Ben-Gurion University in Israel and Columbia University, New York.
Dr. Professor Firas R. Alani
Cardiologist (UAE)
Professor Firas R. Alani, MD, is a Consultant Cardiologist at the American Hospital Dubai. He joined the American Hospital in September 2019 and comes with a 12-year USA experience In the field of Cardiology.
He Is served as Chief Medical Director of the Heart and Vascular Center at the American Hospital Dubai and is currently the Chairman of the American Hospital Academic Institution (AHAI). He was awarded the “Golden Stethoscope” award in teaching at the Drexel University College of Medicine.
He completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular medicine and Interventional Cardiology at the esteemed Drexel university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was elected as Chief Fellow during his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. Dr. Alani completed a six-month Fellowship in Advanced Structural Heart Disease at the Henry Ford Hospital in 2018.
Dr. Alani obtained American Board Certifications in six different medical disciplines. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Vascular Medicine, and Endovascular Interventions. He also carries the certification of the United States Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He was the co-director of the Cardiopulmonary Course At the Medical School for 6 years.
Dr. Alani was granted the full rank of Professorship in Cardiovascular Medicine from the CMU College of Medicine in April 2019.
He was the primary Principal Investigator on more than 20 International Clinical Trials and has published more than 40 articles in well-respected peer-review medical journals. He is a well-known national and international speaker and was invited to speak in multiple conferences across the globe.
Dr. Firas Alani’s passion is to provide the best healthcare care to all his patients and the patients of the Heart and Vascular Center with the cutting-edge medical knowledge and technology available.
He specializes in complex coronary interventions and structural heart disease interventions with experience in most advanced therapies in valvular heart disease such TAVR and TMVR (replacement of Heart valves using minimal invasive technologies and avoiding open heart surgeries. He is very passionate about teaching and has dedicated a large portion of his career training young scholars from different levels and background to become successful physicians of the future.
